Hurricanes @ Canadiens

P.K. Subban notches his first goal of the season. I honestly didn't think it would take him this long, but better late than never. It was a quick, low snapper from the top of the circles. More defensemen in the NHL need to take shots like this. Everyone wants to look like Shea Weber or Zdeno Chara. Just put the puck on net!

The 'Canes are 3-8-2 in their last 13 games. It's time for Paul Maurice to exit the Hurricanes

Carey Price gets his first shutout of the season with a 25-save effort. He also had a terrific assist on the first goal by wrapping the puck high around the glass. There were about three highlights of his saves on NHL.com. I'm going to assume it was one of his easier games, although he did make a great save on Eric Staal.

Devils @ Sabres

Martin Brodeur made glove save after glove save. How does he continue to dominate at his age, especially when he drinks so much Sprite?

Speaking of the inability of age, Patrik Elias is a point-per-game player through 17 games. I looked up his middle name. It's consistency.

Tyler Myers scored two goals after being scratched the previous game. That's a pretty decent response. Unfortunately, Brodeur's glove wasn't fast enough to stop his 2nd tally, which was a classy slapper from the dot into the top corner. I feel like I've seen this before.

Ilya Kovalchuk now has three goals on the season. So does Mark Fayne. The difference in their salaries: $6,124,167. To be fair, Kovalchuk's goal in this game was awesome. Derek Roy should probably watch the point a little tighter.

Adam Henrique is making his presence felt in this line-up. Every game I review he's making moves around defensemen and setting up teammates. I'm definitely going to catch another Devils' game soon just to watch this guy.

Blackhawks @ Canucks

Niklas Hjalmarsson took a page out of Anze Kopitar's book setting up Jonathan Toews's goal. Marian Hossa is pretty fast too. Also worth noting,Viktor Stalberg is playing on a line with these two. Need fantasy help?

Henrik Sedin makes the best passes - so much sauce it hurts.

Steve Montador has six points in his last four games. He's may spontaneously erupting into an offensive defenseman at age 31.

Although he has a great team in front of him, Corey Crawford is silently proving the critics wrong. I'll admit, I thought it was a mistake letting Antti Niemi go after he won this club a Stanley Cup, but Crawford is doing pretty, pretty good

Ducks @ Kings

This game was just a good California battle between two talented clubs with great goaltenders. Jonatahn Quick only made 23 saves, but some were at crucial moments of the game. Jonas Hiller meanwhile made an astounding 36 saves.

Teemu Selanne is 41. Who cares? At this rate, he'll be a point-per-game player in his coffin.

What's wrong with the top line of the Ducks? Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan dominanted the league last year. They're still putting up more than their teammates, but honestly that's not saying much.

Other news:

Tyler Myers was not suspended for his hit. C'mon Tyler, and during his 1,000th game? Chris Stewart was suspended for his hit (3 games).
